When I was growing up in south Louisiana, my aunt and uncle owned their own businesses. I watched as they brought their children into the operations, and admired how it created a deeper sense of family.​ Many years later, the children now each have their own businesses and the chain continues. I've decided​ that I want to do something similar with my family.​

Early in 2019, I began looking at franchise opportunities. Since my family members are all currently ​employed in an IT related field, we first looked at technology related businesses. We could not find anything​ that excited us, or was not already established in our local area. We then decided to look at franchises that​ we felt would be fun to operate, and customers are passionate about.

That led us to

I signed an area development agreement with the franchisor, and had planned to open the first store in Upstate SC ​in early 2020, but then Covid happened, and it was August 2021 before we finally had our Grand Opening. We feel that the business is something that all demographics can relate to, and the franchisor ​had a very detailed operational plan to follow. While it is an established and well known business in the San Francisco ​area for over 18 years, it only recently became a franchise opportunity. We have the 9th operational​ Game Kastle store in the U.S.​

My objective is to have a business model that my family members can participate in, to the extent they are interested. ​We are learning together about many aspects of business that we have not been exposed to previously, but that excitement ​and group motivation is exactly what I am looking forward to. We will leverage each of our individual strengths​ and lean on each other when needed. ​
